The Forum on Disarmament and Development (FDD) forwarded a letter on the 12th February 2019 requesting the President to ban the use of plastic and polythene before the CITES CoP18 conference which will take place from May-June 2019. The ban was requested to be practiced in institutions like the Parliament, ministries and the importance and establishment of a recycling plants too was emphasized.
This has been published under Special Notices in the Ministry of Internal and Home Affairs and Provincial Councils and Local Government website, and we are happy to see the positive response received from the government on this matter.
